Both specials currently offer:

• Monday through Wednesday availability
• Drop-off between 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM

All windows included in the special must be tinted with the same percentage.

For example, you cannot choose 20% for the front doors and 5% for the rear windows under this special. Mixing percentages would require a different package.

The front windshield is not included, and there are no substitutions. You cannot remove the rear window from the package and substitute a front windshield.

As of this writing, the specials are limited to certain qualifying 2-door coupes and 4-door sedans.

Not every coupe or sedan automatically qualifies.

Vehicles outside the eligible categories include convertibles, electric vehicles, European and German vehicles, station wagons, SUVs, crossovers, pickup trucks, other trucks, vans and other vehicles not included in the special.

Certain individual makes and models may also be excluded because of the labor involved.

That's why we don't recommend assuming your car qualifies simply because it's a sedan.

If your vehicle qualifies for our $99.99 or $149.99 special, we still want the installation to meet our quality-control standards.

We do require customers using these specials to bring us a clean vehicle interior, especially around the glass being tinted.

The windows and surrounding areas should be free of excessive pet hair, cigarette-smoke residue, stickers and other contamination that can interfere with achieving a clean installation.

We aren't concerned about whether the outside of your car is freshly detailed. We're concerned about the environment surrounding the glass we're working on.

Bring us a clean vehicle, and we're going to approach that installation with the same attention to cleanliness that we give our higher-priced packages.

The lower price does not mean we're intentionally rushing the installation.

The important words there are heat rejection.

We regularly speak with customers who have been led to believe they need ceramic tint because ceramic supposedly allows them to see perfectly clearly from inside while making the vehicle much darker from outside.

That's not the reason to buy ceramic film.

A professional window film can provide good optical clarity regardless of whether it is standard, carbon or ceramic. How dark a window appears is also influenced by the tint percentage, vehicle interior, surrounding light and the amount of light entering through the rest of the vehicle.

Ceramic film should primarily be considered when heat rejection is an important part of what you're trying to accomplish.

We've actually talked customers out of buying ceramic when their reason for wanting it didn't match what ceramic film is designed to do.

We would rather put someone in the right film than sell them a more expensive package they don't need.

It depends on what you want from your window tint.

If someone tells us:

"I don't really care about heat. I just want my car tinted because I like the appearance."

We're not automatically going to push them toward ceramic.

Standard film may be all they need.

"My car gets extremely hot and heat rejection is one of my biggest reasons for getting tint."

Now we're going to discuss carbon and ceramic.

For many of our everyday customers, standard and carbon are the two most commonly selected options.

For customers wanting good heat rejection at a price below ceramic, we consider carbon film one of the best values for the money.

For customers primarily interested in appearance, standard film can be the better value.

The best window tint isn't automatically the most expensive film on the wall.

It's the film that accomplishes what you actually want.

Window tint pricing is vehicle-specific because some vehicles simply require more material, time and labor than others.

A typical sedan may have five to seven pieces of glass being tinted.

But another vehicle may have additional quarter windows, wing windows near the side mirrors, unusually shaped glass or a rear window that requires considerably more work.

More windows can mean more film.

More complicated windows can mean more labor.

More labor can mean a higher price.

This is why asking a tint shop, "How much to tint a car?" without providing the year, make and model doesn't give the installer enough information to provide an accurate quote.

Rear glass can make a major difference in the difficulty of an installation.

A good example is a Tesla Model 3.

If a customer wants the large Model 3 rear glass tinted in one piece, the installer may need a special 60-inch-wide roll of window film. That oversized piece then has to be properly heat-formed and installed across the large rear glass.

That isn't the same amount of material or labor involved in tinting the rear window of a typical sedan.

This is one reason we price vehicles by their actual year, make and model instead of pretending every sedan, coupe, SUV or EV requires the same installation.

If your vehicle already has aftermarket window tint, that film normally needs to be removed before new tint can be properly installed.

The final removal price depends heavily on the condition of the existing film and adhesive.

Old film that has deteriorated, bubbled, separated or left difficult adhesive behind can require substantially more labor to remove.

We do not recommend simply installing new window tint on top of old aftermarket tint.

If existing film needs to come off, that additional labor needs to be considered when comparing your total window tint price.

Two window tint quotes that appear to be for the same vehicle may not actually be quoting the same service.

The film itself can be different.

The warranty can be different.

Heat rejection can be different.

The installation process can be different.

The amount of time spent inspecting the finished vehicle can be different.

And the experience of the installer can be different.
