2027 Kia Telluride Window Tint Guide: Prices, Shades & Installation

If you're looking for 2027 Kia Telluride window tint in Pennsauken, NJ, this guide breaks down pricing, tint percentages, installation time, film options and what different shades can look like on the new-generation Telluride.

We recently tinted this black 2027 Kia Telluride at Dope Tintings Automotive Window Tint in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

The customer wanted a dark, uniform appearance with maximum privacy. Instead of simply matching the factory rear privacy glass, she wanted the entire SUV to have approximately a 5% tint appearance.

Her setup was:

  • Two front doors: 5% Carbon window tint
  • Rear doors and rear glass: 20% Carbon film installed over the factory privacy glass
  • Windshield: 5% sun strip
  • Overall goal: Approximately a 5% appearance from the front doors through the rear
  • Primary reasons: Privacy, appearance and heat rejection

The factory rear glass was already approximately 20%. Adding 20% film over that factory privacy glass darkened the finished rear windows considerably, giving them an appearance close to 5%.

Quick Answer: What Tint Was Installed on This 2027 Kia Telluride?

This 2027 Kia Telluride received 5% Carbon tint on the two front doors, 20% Carbon tint over the factory rear privacy glass, and a 5% windshield sun strip.

Because the rear windows already had dark factory privacy glass, adding 20% film over them created an approximately 5% finished appearance.

This gave the Telluride a much more uniform dark appearance from the front doors through the rear while providing the privacy and heat rejection this customer wanted.

2027 Kia Telluride Window Tint Prices

At Dope Tintings, current pricing for tinting the four doors and rear window of a 2027 Kia Telluride is:

Film TypeFour Doors + Rear Window
Standard Film$274.99
Carbon Film$349.99
Ceramic Film$449.99

A windshield sun strip is $84.99.

If you only want the two front doors tinted, pricing starts at $99.99.

The Kia Telluride does not qualify for our $99 or $149.99 full-vehicle tint specials because those specials are limited to qualifying coupes and sedans. SUVs such as the Telluride are excluded.

Prices can change, so contact Dope Tintings for current pricing before scheduling.

How Long Does It Take to Tint a 2027 Kia Telluride?

Tinting the four doors and rear window of a 2027 Kia Telluride typically takes approximately 2 to 2½ hours at our shop.

Adding a windshield sun strip normally requires another 30 to 40 minutes.

Actual installation time can vary depending on the vehicle's condition and the work being performed.

We don't believe in rushing an installation simply to get another vehicle through the shop. Proper preparation and protecting the vehicle are part of the installation process.

Is the 2027 Kia Telluride Difficult to Tint?

From an experienced installer's standpoint, the 2027 Kia Telluride is a relatively straightforward vehicle to tint.

2027 Kia Telluride Window Tint Guide: Prices, Shades & Installation — photo 2

Even though 2027 introduced a new generation of the Telluride, the basic window tint installation is similar to the previous generation.

The door panels don't normally need to be completely removed for the installation. The window gaskets aren't excessively tight, and the quarter windows and rear hatch glass are straightforward.

However, we still remove the necessary window sweeps to properly position the film below the gasket and achieve the premium finished installation we're looking for.

An easy vehicle doesn't mean preparation should be skipped.

Do the Door Panels Need to Come Off a 2027 Kia Telluride?

No. For this generation Telluride, we don't normally need to completely remove the door panels to install the window film properly.

The gaskets aren't excessively tight, which gives us enough room to work with the film.

We do, however, remove the necessary window sweeps.

The sweeps are located along the area where the roll-down glass travels inside the door. Removing them gives us better access when positioning the film and helps us achieve the premium finished appearance we want.

Windshield Electronics Require Extra Precautions

One area where installers need to be especially careful is around the windshield.

Depending on the equipment in the vehicle, a 2027 Telluride may have cameras, rain sensors and other electronics near the upper windshield area.

Even when we're only installing a sun strip, we take precautions to keep installation solution away from sensitive electronics.

The sun strip itself doesn't need to cover the camera or sensor equipment. It's installed outside of those areas, but protecting the electronics from water during installation remains important.

This is one reason vehicle owners should still choose an experienced installer even when the vehicle itself isn't considered particularly difficult to tint.

Why This Customer Chose 5% Tint

This customer wasn't trying to simply match the two front windows to the factory rear glass.

She wanted the complete 5% look.

The two front doors received 5% Carbon film.

The rear of the Telluride already had dark factory privacy glass, so we installed 20% Carbon film over that glass. Combining the film with the existing privacy glass created a significantly darker finished appearance.

The result is a much more uniform appearance across all four doors and the rear of the SUV.

It also provides the level of privacy the customer wanted.

What Does 20% Tint Over Factory Privacy Glass Look Like?

This is an important distinction for Telluride and other SUV owners.

Factory privacy glass and aftermarket window film aren't the same thing.

2027 Kia Telluride Window Tint Guide: Prices, Shades & Installation — photo 3

If your Telluride's rear windows already appear to be around 20%, installing another layer of 20% window film doesn't leave you with a 20% finished appearance.

The combination becomes substantially darker.

On this particular 2027 Telluride, adding 20% Carbon film over the rear factory privacy glass produced an appearance of approximately 5%.

That doesn't mean every piece of rear glass will mathematically measure exactly 5%. Factory glass can vary.

We're describing the finished appearance based on what we see after installing the film.

This is also why we tell customers that a percentage can look different on a tint display than it does once installed throughout an entire vehicle.

Once multiple windows are tinted, less light enters the cabin from different directions, which can make the completed vehicle appear darker.

If you're trying to understand the difference between two popular percentages, read our 20% vs. 35% Window Tint Guide.

Is 5% Tint Too Dark at Night?

For some drivers, absolutely.

5% window tint allows approximately 5% of visible light through and blocks approximately 95%.

That makes it extremely dark.

During bright daylight, customers may love the privacy and appearance. At night, visibility through 5% film can become significantly more challenging.

If you're not accustomed to dark window film, we wouldn't recommend automatically choosing 5% simply because you like how another vehicle looks with it.

Nighttime situations such as turning onto a poorly lit road, backing up or parallel parking can make the darkness much more noticeable.

Some drivers may find themselves rolling down a window to see better in certain situations.

Your personal tolerance and ability to comfortably see through the film should be part of your decision.

What Does a 5% Windshield Sun Strip Do?

This Telluride also received a 5% sun strip across the upper windshield.

A windshield strip can help reduce glare from the sun, particularly during morning and evening driving when sunlight is lower on the horizon.

It can also help reduce some glare from oncoming headlights at night.

We sometimes compare it to having a permanent pair of sunglasses across the upper portion of the windshield.

Unlike tinting the entire windshield, a sun strip only covers the upper section.

Carbon Window Tint Was a Good Choice for This Telluride

The customer selected our Carbon window film.

Carbon is one of our popular options for customers who want good heat rejection without moving up to the price of Ceramic film.

For this Telluride, it made sense because the customer wasn't only interested in appearance.

She also wanted heat rejection for herself and her passengers.

Our three primary options give customers different levels of performance and price:

  • Standard Film: Good for appearance, privacy and customers primarily concerned with price
  • Carbon Film: Very good heat rejection and a strong middle-ground option
  • Ceramic Film: Our highest heat-rejection option

For many daily-driven vehicles, Carbon provides a good balance between price and performance.

Standard vs. Carbon vs. Ceramic Window Tint

Choosing between Standard, Carbon and Ceramic depends on what you're actually trying to accomplish.

If appearance and privacy are your main priorities, Standard may be enough.

If you want good heat rejection without paying Ceramic pricing, Carbon is usually the better choice.

If your main goal is maximum heat rejection, Ceramic is what we'd recommend.

There is also an installation difference customers should understand with our roll-down windows.

With our Standard film, the computer-cut pattern may leave approximately a 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch gap along the top edge of the roll-down glass.

With our Carbon and Ceramic packages, we take the film to the edge of the roll-down glass, creating a cleaner factory-style finished edge.

Should You Choose Ceramic Tint for a 2027 Kia Telluride?

It depends on your goal.

If your primary concern is appearance or privacy, you don't necessarily need Ceramic film.

If your goal is maximum heat rejection, Ceramic is what we recommend.

However, there's an important point that often gets overlooked.

If you're spending the additional money on Ceramic specifically for maximum heat rejection, covering only a few windows limits the benefit.

For maximum heat rejection in a Telluride, ideally you would address every major glass surface:

  • All four doors
  • Rear glass
  • Quarter windows
  • Full windshield
  • Sunroof or panoramic roof, if equipped

Heat can enter through every untreated piece of glass.

If doing everything at once isn't within your budget, the vehicle can also be completed in stages.

You could start with the doors and rear glass, return for the windshield, and later add the sunroof or panoramic roof.

Common Installation Mistakes on a 2027 Telluride

Although we consider the Telluride straightforward for an experienced professional, an inexperienced installer can still create problems.

Possible installation mistakes include:

  • Creasing the window film
  • Poorly cleaning the glass
  • Leaving excessive contamination under the film
  • Scratching the glass
  • Damaging interior trim
  • Allowing excessive solution into door panels
  • Getting installation solution around windshield electronics
  • Getting excessive solution into leather stitching
  • Failing to properly protect interior surfaces

The difficulty rating of a vehicle doesn't determine the quality of the finished installation.

Installer experience and preparation still matter.

Is 5% Window Tint Legal on a 2027 Kia Telluride in New Jersey?

New Jersey window tint laws are particularly important when considering a setup this dark.

The front side windows and windshield are subject to different restrictions than the rear windows of an SUV.

This particular customer's tint selection was based on the appearance and privacy she wanted. It shouldn't be interpreted as a statement that the same setup is legal for every New Jersey driver.

Before choosing 5%, especially on the two front doors, understand both the potential legal consequences and the nighttime visibility concerns.

For a more detailed explanation, read our New Jersey Window Tint Laws: Complete 2026 Guide.

What Tint Percentage Do We Recommend for a Kia Telluride?

There isn't one percentage that's perfect for every Telluride owner.

If someone only wants the two front doors to visually match the factory rear privacy glass, we would normally recommend approximately 20% rather than automatically recommending 5%.

This customer wanted something completely different.

She specifically wanted a much darker, approximately 5% appearance throughout the vehicle.

That's why we installed 5% on the front doors and 20% over the existing factory privacy glass in the rear.

Before choosing your percentage, consider:

  • Daytime appearance
  • Nighttime visibility
  • Privacy
  • Heat rejection
  • New Jersey tint laws
  • Whether you're matching factory privacy glass
  • How dark you're actually comfortable driving with

The darkest option isn't automatically the best option.

How long does a 2027 Kia Telluride take to tint?

Approximately 2 to 2½ hours for the four doors and rear window. A windshield sun strip can add approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

What tint matches the factory rear windows on a Kia Telluride?

Approximately 20% is what we normally recommend when someone wants the two front doors to closely match the appearance of the factory rear privacy glass.

What happens when you put 20% tint over factory privacy glass?

The finished result becomes considerably darker than 20%. On the 2027 Telluride featured in this guide, 20% Carbon film over the existing rear privacy glass created an appearance close to 5%.

Is 5% tint difficult to see through at night?

Yes. 5% film blocks approximately 95% of visible light, so nighttime visibility can be challenging, particularly for drivers who aren't accustomed to extremely dark window tint.

Why did this Telluride have 5% on the front and 20% on the rear?

The customer wanted a uniform approximately 5% appearance. The front doors started with clear glass, so we installed 5%. The rear already had dark factory privacy glass, so adding 20% film over it produced a much darker finished appearance.

Is Carbon or Ceramic tint better for a Kia Telluride?

Carbon is a strong option for customers who want very good heat rejection without paying Ceramic pricing. Ceramic is what we'd recommend when maximum heat rejection is the priority.

Do you have to remove the door panels to tint a 2027 Telluride?

We don't normally need to completely remove the door panels. We do remove the necessary window sweeps so we can properly position the film and achieve the finished installation we're looking for.

Does the Kia Telluride qualify for the $99 or $149.99 tint special?

No. The Telluride is an SUV, and SUVs are excluded from those full-vehicle specials. Tinting only the two front doors starts at $99.99.
